Maine Aquaculture Association sets new standards

The Maine Aquaculture Association has released the Maine Aquaculture Occupational Standards, which specify the current workforce skills and training necessary in Maine’s aquaculture sector.

Net-services provider appoints homegrown talent

Badinotti Net Services Canada Ltd. has named Trevor Schiele as director of Sea Operations. Having grown up in the coast of British Columbia, Schiele has worked in aquaculture since graduating high school and has always been interested in continuing his career in the industry, said the Campbell River, B.C.-based company.

Developer of tide-to-table tracker wins $500K grant

A technology that would help the shellfish industry trace the journey of the product from tide to table has won a $500,000 grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) Small Business Innovation Research Fund.

Shellfish farms help communities save millions in water-cleanup costs
