Celebrating women in aquaculture

Aquaculture North America (ANA), in partnership with Merck Animal Health, is launching a new project celebrating women in the North American industry. Women in North American Aquaculture, or WINAA, aims to understand the road to gender equality in the industry.

Gender gap in aquaculture

Research from AquaFish Innovation Lab at Oregon State University shows that women are underrepresented in aquaculture-related research paper authorship. This can have an impact on their careers as publication credits are an important factor for promotions, funding, and tenure positions for academic researchers.
