Kvarøy Arctic announces 3rd year launch of women in aquaculture scholarship

The Norway salmon farm will award two annual scholarships that support the further education, research, and career development of women in the field of aquaculture. One will be dedicated to an applicant from any country and the other is designated for applicants from countries in Africa.

Chantal March, director of Quality & Regulatory Compliance at AquaBounty, grew up next to the ocean in Newfoundland where fish and fisheries were extremely important. She discovered her love of being on the water at an early age when she became a member of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Program, later working and volunteering within that organization in many roles.

Holly Kennedy’s passion for aquaculture began as an aquarist, where she would provide husbandry to the fish and educate the public on the importance of conservation. As she shifted from education to the production of sustainable seafood, she took what she knew and combined it with fish and feed management.
