U.S. updates National Aquaculture Development Plan, first in 40 years

The White House National Science and Technology Council is updating its National Aquaculture Development Plan for the first time in 40 years.  According to an NOAA article, the National Science and Technology Council's Subcommittee on Aquaculture finalized the draft overview of the National Aquaculture Development Plan, released earlier this year for public comment.


Newfoundland officials oppose South Coast National Marine Protected Area proposal

Newfoundland and Labrador government officials are opposing the proposed south coast National Marine Protected Area (NMCA) boundary.


Bluegreen's Marine Donut reports 'promising results' in salmon aquaculture trial

Bluegreen, a Norwegian solutions company, has said its closed aquaculture system for salmon, Marine Donut, has shown promising results from its first full-scale tests in Norway. Two full-scale tests with market-sized fish are required, involving comprehensive documentation and evaluation of various technical and biological parameters.
