Briana Warner has stepped down as CEO of Atlantic Sea Farms. Warner, who has been the CEO of the seaweed farming company for the past six years, announced on Jan. 24 that she’s exploring other opportunities.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced US$25 million to tap the seaweed sector for energy production. The funding made through the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) is to develop a marine energy hydrocarbon through the deep-water cultivation of seaweed biomass for energy products.
