20-year study shows B.C. salmon farms pose minimal risk to wild

A new study by UC Davis researchers challenges prevailing narratives around B.C. salmon farms, concluding that pathogen risk to wild salmon is minimal. The fish health experts also found that phasing out open net pen farms by 2029 will not likely affect wild salmon populations.


NAIA refutes claims of improper disposal of aquaculture equipment

The Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association (NAIA) is refuting claims that the province's salmon farmers are abandoning obsolete plastic and other equipment at sea. The allegations came from the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF), which conducted a recent environmental investigation.
