Canadian farm gate milk and butter support prices to increase effective Sept. 1

The Canadian Dairy Commission will increase the farmgate price of milk and the support price for butter for the second time in 2022 in response to a request from the Dairy Farmers of Canada for an increase due to inflation.

The federal government has published final regulations to prohibit single-use plastics including check-out bags, cutlery, food-service ware made from or containing hard-to-recycle plastics, ring carriers, stir sticks and straws (with some exceptions).
