Quebec program introduces 8 new artisan bakers to the industry

Quebec is welcoming eight new artisan bakers who will bring their technical skills and creativity to local bakeries across the province. In a recent release, the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) announced that the bakers completed a 994-hour training program developed in collaboration with Première Moisson.

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. has launched a defamation lawsuit against Canada Bread Co. Ltd. and its parent company Grupo Bimbo. The lawsuit comes after Canada Bread accused Maple Leaf of using it as a “shield” to avoid liability in an alleged bread price-fixing scheme. The Canadian Press reports via Food in Canada.
