Breaking news: Trump says tariffs to start April 2, markets rattled

In this breaking news, as of 3 p.m., today, March 6, President Trump has exempted goods from both Canada and Mexico under a North American trade pact for a month from the 25 per cent tariffs that he had imposed earlier this week. Reuters reports.


Prime Minister Trudeau releases statement as Trump tariff threat becomes reality

The U.S. has announced tariffs against Canada on April 4, setting in motion a trade war between two countries with deeply linked economies, jeopardizing jobs and likely raising consumer prices on both sides of the border. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued this statement in response.


Ontario dessert chain responds to U.S. tariffs with 25% off dessert
