Teams shortlisted for OPP modernization phase two project

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) have shortlisted three teams to design, build and finance nine new detachments for phase two of the OPP modernization project.


Ontario plans to target online ticket scalping

Ontario is targeting online ticket scalping with proposed legislation, dubbed the Ticket Sales Act, which it plans to introduce this fall. Attorney General Yasir Naqvi says last year’s near instantaneous sell-outs of the Tragically Hip’s farewell tour shone a light on the issue.


Halifax police chief proposes publishing suicide stats

Chief Jean-Michel Blais raised the idea to release suicide stats at a police commission, saying the data could come out monthly and wouldn’t include specific locations or details on what happened — just the outcomes.
