Statistics Canada has released a survey on homicide rates, which shows that in 2016 Saskatchewan was No. 1 among provinces with 54 homicides, or 4.69 slayings per 100,000 population.

Mike McCormack, the president of the Toronto Police Association, told Blue Line there “isn’t much” about the new act that is encouraging for police officers while G4S Canada notes there is an “opportunity for all stakeholders to win in this.”
