Feds unveil ads warning of drug-impaired driving dangers

Ahead of its July deadline for legalizing recreational marijuana use in Canada, the federal government has launched a campaign that will see ads air on TV, radio, online and in movie theatres, warning of the risks of drug-impaired driving.

Hate crimes up three per cent

Police-reported hate crimes in Canada rose three per cent from 2015 to 2016, according to a new report released by Statistics Canada. StatsCan says the increase in hate crimes was a result of more incidents targeting South Asians and Arabs or West Asians, the Jewish population, and people based on their sexual orientation. In contrast, hate crimes against Muslims and Catholics declined in 2016. » Read more...
