Auto theft down in most major cities: IBC

Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) recently published its annual list of the Top 10 Most Frequently Stolen Vehicles. Once again, Ford trucks and high-priced SUVs feature prominently.

The University of Regina has been commissioned to study the effects of policing on the mental health of RCMP officers. Researchers will get data from wearable technology, annual psychological assessments and self-reporting measures.


Cryptocurrency scams rope in double the money this year

Canadians have been swindled out of more than $1.7 million via scams involving cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin so far this year. The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre says that’s more than five times the amount people lost to these types of scams in 2015, which was roughly $284,000.
