Conservation officers have authority to kill wildlife: B.C. judge

A British Columbia court has dismissed a case in which a wildlife advocacy group accused the B.C. government of not following its own law on the destruction of wildlife.


Ontario to extend PTSD presumption to include special constables

Ontario is proposing to extend the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) presumption to include special constables and civilian members of police services in Violent Crime Linkage Analysis System (ViCLAS) and forensic units. This would expedite access to benefits, resources and timely treatment, the government said.


‘U.S. model’ for parole ineligibility likely to face court challenge

Legal experts say a sentencing provision that can keep killers in prison for the rest of their lives is likely to make its way to the Supreme Court of Canada.
