Legalization: “I’m here to tell Canadians that the police are ready”

Police departments across Canada are fully prepared for marijuana legalization, said the head of the country’s police chiefs on Monday, but there won’t be swift crackdowns on illegal pot shops or craft cannabis growers.

Ashmore spent 16 months in Ramallah, Palestine, as part of the European Union Co-ordinating for Palestine Police Support. Deployed as a police advisor for accountability, she was appointed acting deputy head of the Police Advisory Section six months in.
