Mounties put hundreds of eyes in the sky with expanding drone fleet

The RCMP has assembled a fleet of more than 200 flying drones — eyes in the sky that officers use for everything from international border investigations to protecting VIP visitors, newly disclosed records show.


Q&A: Tri-services in York Region enhance unified command

York Region’s emergency services have developed an integrated response model, leveraging a collaborative approach to major incidents. In October 2018, York Regional Police (YRP), York Region Paramedic Services and the eight fire services agreed to introduce enhanced training to promote effective response during mass casualty criminal incidents. York Region Paramedic Services Supt. Tait Mitchell, YRP Sgt. Douglas Ritchie and Deputy Fire Chief Ryan Jagoe share more about plans for the program and continuing to mould such a unified framework.


Toronto hosts World LGBTQ Conference for Criminal Justice Professionals • VIDEO

Blue Line stopped by the Toronto Sheraton Centre Hotel last week to take in the last day of the 2nd World LGBTQ Conference for Criminal Justice Professionals. Danielle Bottineau, the LGBT Liaison Officer for Toronto Police Service and conference planning committee member, said 175 delegates from 14 countries attended the event to network, share stories and discuss crucial topics such as visibility and inclusion.
