You’ve probably been hearing about the HealthIM and interRAI’s Brief Mental Health Screener (BMHS) program for a handful of years now. Blue Line last reported on the digital mental health assessment tool for law enforcement back in 2016, noting it had been field tested with the Niagara Regional and Brantford police services since 2013. We wanted to check in with the technology and see what has happened since.

The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police won’t be supporting a call for a ban on handguns despite concerns about gun violence in a number of major cities including Toronto.
