Police commission asked to find safety solutions for downtown Winnipeg

The Manitoba government is directing the province’s police commission to find ways to make downtown Winnipeg safer. Justice Minister Cliff Cullen has asked the commission to investigate measures that include increased foot patrols, security cameras and increased lighting.

A new web app that directly engages the public in the search for missing children has been unveiled by The Missing Children Society of Canada. Among its functions, MCSC rescu uses SMS alerts about missing children targeted to the locations of people who have registered with the app.
