Normalizing mental health key to preventing police suicides, report says

Destigmatizing mental health issues and quick access to quality care are critical to helping stop police officers from killing themselves, a report has found. The study by an expert panel comes up with seven “pathways” to better outcomes for officers, whose suicide rate is far above the national average.


French government admits security breach in police attack

France’s interior minister has acknowledged that there was a breach in security that failed to detect signs of radicalization of a police employee who killed four people inside Paris police headquarters.


Quartermaster section is no longer a boys’ club in Ottawa

The RCMP was struggling to keep staff security clearances up to date during the time a senior employee allegedly tried to pass secrets to adversaries, an internal Mountie audit shows.
