Expanding opportunities at Camrose Police Service: Chief Dean LaGrange

Dean LaGrange became the eighth chief of the Camrose Police Service in central Alberta in July 2019. He brought with him 26 years of experience with the Calgary Police Service, where he rose to the rank of inspector, followed by an 18-month term with the RCMP in Red Deer, Alta., where he held the position of inspector of operational support. He discusses more about how those experiences shaped him and his plans for Camrose with Blue Line.


New Brunswick RCMP move into new detachment

The New Brunswick RCMP is moving into their new office space on the Tobique First Nation. The Trevor Francis Memorial Emergency Services Centre is owned by the Tobique First Nation, with the RCMP leasing space in the building. The new detachment is located at 284 Main Street, in Suite 3.


London, Ont. firm provides strategic communications for first responders

Duty Calls Communications, a new firm specializing in providing strategic communications advice, media and crisis communications training, and writing services to emergency service agencies, launched this week. It is based in London, Ont.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service trained in emergency care for police K9 unit

The Winnipeg Police Service and Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) have completed a new training initiative: WFPS Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) paramedics, who provide pre-hospital medical care for the WPS Tactical Support Team (TST), are now fully trained to provide canine emergency pre-hospital medical care for the WPS K9 Unit. » Read more
