Participants needed for new Laurier study on police fathers

A graduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University is looking for participants for a research study on the experiences of police officers who are fathers (“police fathers”). The purpose of this research is to examine the experiences of police fathers both prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic, says Danielle Thompson, the student in the department of criminology at the Laurier campus in Brantford, Ont. Although research has been conducted on the experiences of police mothers, police fathers have been understudied, she continues, and so this study will inform initiatives aimed at supporting police officers who are parents.
