B.C. police officers recovering after bank shootout overwhelmed by support

An officer who was injured in a deadly shootout outside a bank in Saanich, B.C., last week remains in intensive care after three surgeries.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced it has laid multiple criminal charges against five individuals. Their investigation discovered that over $3 million from the illegal sale of cannabis was laundered, including through casinos in the GTA and Niagara regions.


Sentencing date set for former Wiikwemkoong police chief

Terry McCaffrey will hear his sentence on October 13 at the Gore Bay courthouse. Mr. McCaffrey was convicted of sexual assault, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code, on April 25 by Justice J. Elliott Allen.
