More than 400 complaints made against Ottawa police officers during ‘Freedom Convoy’

Man convicted of manslaughter in death of Abbotsford police officer

A man has been found guilty of manslaughter in the death of an off-duty Abbotsford police officer from a July 2020 incident on Baker Street in Nelson. Alex Willness was found guilty after the trial judge dismissed the claim of self-defence.


Ontario honours police officers and firefighters

The Ontario government is honouring 21 police officers and 13 firefighters with the Ontario Medal for Police Bravery and the Ontario Medal for Firefighter Bravery. The medals are the province’s highest honours and are given to police officers and firefighters who have demonstrated great courage in risking their lives to save the lives of others.


Sask. RCMP investigating 15 homicides in 2023

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating 15 homicides in 2023, including three over the June 16 to 18 weekend. Two of the 15 homicides occurred in the Esterhazy-Langenburg detachment area, including one of the three on the June 16 weekend. Murder charges have been laid in both those cases.
