Ontario police leaders discuss challenges in new survey

Throughout the Spring of 2024, 20 of Ontario’s policing leaders were surveyed to learn their perspectives on the challenges being faced by communities and what is being done to make them safer.


A review of Canadian police murders from 1980 to 2023

A recent study found that most murdered officers weren’t young or inexperienced—many were considered veteran officers. A significant finding was that police were outgunned, and the majority of officers were killed by high-powered rifles which penetrated their soft body armour.


Key points from report into RCMP response to Saskatchewan mass killing

The RCMP released a report Thursday into how Mounties responded to a mass stabbing in Saskatchewan. Myles Sanderson killed 11 people and injured 17 others on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the nearby village of Weldon on Sept. 4, 2022.


Chatham-Kent Police announce police chief retirement and new appointment

The Chatham-Kent Police Services Board (CKPSB) recently announced that they have received and accepted Chief Gary Conn’s notice of retirement, set for June 14. Conn was appointed as chief of police in May 2015.
