Surrey Police Service unveils first vehicles

The transition of policing service in Surrey has reached another milestone with the first deployment of Surrey Police Service (SPS) vehicles into policing operations. Ten fully marked and equipped SPS police vehicles have been put into service.


New chief of police chosen by Smiths Falls Police Services Board

The Smiths Falls Police Services Board has announced the appointment of Jodi Empey as Police Chief for the Town of Smiths Falls, effective July 3. A veteran member, Chief Empey joined the Smiths Falls Police Service as a recruit in 1994 and continued to move up the ranks throughout her 30-year career.


First Responders can’t go to Victoria neighbourhood without police: chief

A recent attack on a Victoria paramedic and the subsequent threats against cops who were called in to help mark the latest incidents of violence against local first responders, the city’s police chief said in announcing emergency personnel would no longer respond to calls from a specific neighbourhood without police backup.
