Retired Chief Barry Vincent King passes away at the age of 82

It is with heavy hearts that the family of retired Police Chief Barry Vincent King of the Sault Ste. Marie Police and Brockville Police Services announced his passing on Aug. 3 after a battle with cancer. King was 82 years old.


RCMP union, Saskatchewan communities call for pause on marshals service

The letter, spearheaded by the National Police Federation, says the province should stop further investment in the plan until there’s fulsome consultation. Concerns include oversight issues, lack of integration with existing police, and unknown costs and staffing.


Off-duty Toronto police officer shot in leg by man wanted on Canada-wide warrant

Toronto police say the off-duty officer called for backup and a chase ensued between the suspect and uniformed officers, at which point a shot was fired. The off-duty officer sustained a serious but non-life-threatening wound to his thigh and has been released from hospital.
