WPAC on-demand: a look at the SBP Standards Development Process

In the run up to the first virtual Wood Pellet Association of Canada (WPAC) Conference and AGM, we are making a new on-demand session available every week.

This week’s on-demand session is all about the Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP) Standards Development Process. This is the first review since SBP’s six standards were released in 2015 and a test of the multi-stakeholder governance that was implemented in 2019. The Standards Development Process covers a range of topics, including expansion into new feedstocks, products and markets; connection with the UN Sustainable Development Goals; recognition of other certification systems and more.
