One of the plants Atlantic Power is acquiring, Craven County Wood Energy, is a 48 MW biomass plant that has been in service since October 1990.


Feds invest $13.8M in Kruger biomass and paper projects

Kruger will install a new system to dry low-quality biomass, usually sent to landfills, and use it to produce energy for the plant, thus limiting the use of fossil fuels it needs to operate.


Arterran Renewables eyes Port Alice for solid biofuel plant

According to Lloyd Davis, Arterran’s director and chief technical officer, Arterran is working with the B.C. Ministry of Forests to determine fibre supply in the area.


EQTEC, Phoenix Biomass ink deal to develop US biogas projects

Under the agreement, the parties will seek to jointly develop biomass gasification power projects in the U.S., with five projects having already been identified.
