Airex Energy designs, manufactures and commercializes biomass torrefaction systems. It has successfully developed a cost-effective technology that enables large scale production of torrefied pellets and biochar, from a variety of feedstock including sawmill by-products, forestland biomass and agricultural residues.
Following on the successful operation of its demonstration plant commissioned in 2016, the company is planning the construction of a large-scale torrefied pellet plant in British Columbia, Canada. The plant will start operation in Q1/2021 and will be primarily dedicated to supplying the Japanese market. Airex is also developing biomass torrefaction projects in Southeast Asia.
