The Ontario government has provided $100,000 for the development commission of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory on Manitoulin Isalnd to produce an economic development plan for a proposed 150,000-tonne pellet plant.

Last summer, PRODESA technicians finished the commissioning for the pelleting island in the “GRAND RIVER PELLETS LIMITED” wood pellet plant (from the IRVING group) in Saint Leonard, New Brunswick. All the stages of the project, which started during the 1st semester of last year, have been successfully carried, and now the plant is producing at its nominal capacity. The pelleting line, which is the heart of this plant, includes five pellet mills with its corresponding five coolers in order to achieve the required production and quality of wood pellets.
This is another of PRODESA´s recent success stories in Canada, where the company is very active and involved in several projects at different stages.

WPAC’s Safety Committee, in co-operation with WorkSafeBC and media partner Canadian Biomass, are hosting a workshop on process safety bow tie analysis on Nov. 13. The workshop will include an introduction to bow tie analysis and an opportunity for participants to gain hands-on experience.
