Canfor Pulp receives $2M to fund renewable energy project

The government of B.C. has invested $2 million in Canfor Pulp for a project that will convert forestry byproduct and wood waste to renewable energy, to be spearheaded by the company’s Prince George pulp mill.

A five-year R&D program for cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) managed by FPInnovations has resulted in a catalogue of over 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers and $1.6 million invested in research to further the development of nanocellulose applications derived from wood fibre.


Stora Enso to build pilot plant for bio-based packaging foam

Stora Enso will build a pilot facility for producing a lightweight, fibre-based foam material for protective packaging and cushioning. The plant will be located at Stora Enso’s Fors Mill in Sweden.


Clean Energy Fuels to provide RNG for NYC buses

The multi-year agreement for an estimated 25 million gallons of Clean Energy’s Redeem RNG will reduce greenhouse gas emissions annually by 25,351 metric tons.
