Pinnacle receives notice of Alberta OHS regulatory charges

Pinnacle Renewable Energy has received notice of regulatory charges laid by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) following their investigation of the explosion which resulted in injuries at the company’s plant in Entwistle, Alta., on Feb. 11, 2019.


Nova Scotia mill proposes building biochar plant

Robin Wilber, owner of Elsmdale, N.S.-based Elsmdale Lumber, is planning to build a biochar plant on his property. The plant would use wood fibre from the sawmill, including softwood chips, to produce biochar.


FutureMetrics’ new dashboard estimates cost of wood fibre for pellet plants

The dashboard allows the user to estimate the metric tonnes per year of woody feedstock required to furnish a pellet factory with the raw material needed to produce pellets and provide energy for the drying system.


Valmet to supply boiler plant for district heating system in Finland

Valmet will build the new boiler plant from the foundation upwards all the way from the fuel feed silo to the stack. The core of the delivery is Valmet BFB Boiler that utilizes bubbling fluidized bed technology and runs on a wide range of biomasses.


Rembe introduces Targo-Vent opening angle limiter

Rembe Targo-Vent is an opening angle limiter, developed for use with Rembe Explosion Panels, which guides the pressure relief specifically into areas in which there is no danger to the adjoining infrastructure.
