Diane Nicholls joins Drax as vice president of sustainability

Diane Nicholls, former chief forester for B.C., has joined Drax as the vice-president of sustainability. “I look forward to advancing my work around forestry stewardship with Drax,” she said.


Federal government awards funding for three biomass projects at GLOBE Forum 2022

The funding includes $4,583,000 to Canfor Pulp Ltd. for a front-end engineering design study to support a biomass-to-low-carbon-biofuel plant and $1,852,941 to ArcelorMittal Dofasco to showcase the use of biocarbon in an industrial blast furnace.


Enerkem wins ‘The Sky’s the Limit Challenge’ for producing SAF from forest biomass

The prize won by Enerkem constitutes a $5 million grant to continue commercializing its innovative fuel. As a finalist, the company was selected in 2019 to receive $2 million to develop its technology to compete for the grand prize.


Emissions Reduction Alberta commits $50M for new Circular Economy Challenge

ERA will match private contributions to a single project for up to 50 per cent of the project’s eligible expenses. Successful applicants are eligible for up to $10 million with a minimum request of $500,000.
