Firefighter in recovery after being pulled from a burning building

A Toronto firefighter who was rushed to hospital in critical condition on Tuesday suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Flood damage in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality has prompted the mayor to seek disaster assistance, and Premier Stephen MacNeil says the region will likely qualify for federal disaster relief funding.
