Essex firefighters reach 4-year deal with town

Firefighters in Essex, Ont., have reached a four-year deal with the town extending to Nov. 30, 2021, which lays out wages, a uniform allowance, medical reimbursement and license renewals.


Terry Harrison makes court appearance in criminal negligence trial

After a brief initial court appearance on Jan. 24, Terry Harrison is scheduled to return to the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on Feb. 14. Harrison, owner of Herschel Rescue Training Systems, is charged with criminal negligence causing death in connection with a deadly swift, cold-water rescue training exercise in 2015.


Sarnia firefighters to begin carrying naloxone

Sarnia firefighters will be using naloxone nasal spray for emergency treatment of painkiller overdoses, indicates a report to city councillors.
