Sarnia's fire service overtime continues to spike

Overtime in Sarnia, Ont.’s, fire service continues to have a big impact on the city’s financials. Projections are $1.1 million will be paid out by end of December, mostly to cover shift requirements as several firefighters have been off on extended leave for workplace-incurred injuries and illnesses.


Nearly 100 firefighter memorials stolen from Nova Scotia cemetery

Law enforcement officials are appealing to the public for help after nearly 100 “broken ladder” memorials were stolen from a cemetery for volunteer firefighters in Bridgewater, N.S., over the weekend.
