The Yarmouth Firefighters Association has burning questions about the future of dispatch services in this region. The association says it wants and needs more information on what the level of dispatch service will be in the future now that the Town of Yarmouth in Nova Scotia has decided to go ahead with the layoffs of the four dispatchers who provide local service in the tri-counties.

The Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs (OAFC) is applauding the provincial government for introducing legislation that will allow full-time firefighters to volunteer as firefighters in their communities. The legislation, known as Bill 57, the Restoring Trust, Transparency and Accountability Act, 2018, was introduced in the Legislature in mid-November.
