Grass fires frustrate Cape Breton firefighters

Long frustrated by the sheer volume of grass and out-of-control property fires they are called on to extinguish, Cape Breton firefighters in Nova Scotia are saying enough is enough.


Oakville Fire Auto Extrication Team selected to compete in France

The Oakville Fire Department Auto Extrication team has been selected by the Transportation Emergency Rescue Committee to represent Canada and the U.S. at the World Rescue Organization Challenge in La Rochelle, France this September.


Notre Dame fire: Video shows how firefighters struggled to battle blaze

Firefighters battled an inferno inside Paris’ Notre-Dame cathedral on Monday. Footage released by the Paris Fire Brigade showed the cathedral’s ceilings burning bright orange and flames surging inside as firefighters and a robot attempted to extinguish the blaze.
