Alberta department recognized for service

Red Deer Emergency Services in Alberta is now the only department in the world with four accreditations in fire and medical services. The department was recognized for receiving the Emergency Fire Dispatch Accredited Centre of Excellence accreditation at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 24.


Fighting fire with smarts

With back-to-back record wildfire years in B.C., Sasquatch Trail resident Denis Thompson is doing everything he can to protect his and his neighbour’s property. Thompson is setting the example for locals, joining the B.C. FireSmart initiative to co-ordinate and integrate resources across different agencies.
