Nova Scotia PhD student to research volunteer firefighters’ mental health

In January, Robin Campbell, a PhD student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, will begin working with fire departments to study mental health in volunteer firefighters.

A tweet put up by the firefighters’ union in Saanich, B.C., is warning the public of a phone scam. The scammer has been impersonating the Saanich Fire Department, and phoning people asking for donations to the burn fund.


Fire captain who was critically injured in blaze released from hospital

Toronto’s fire chief says a captain who was critically injured while battling a blaze earlier this month has been released from hospital. Chief Matthew Pegg shared a photo on Twitter showing Capt. James Warren leaving a downtown hospital flanked by a fellow firefighter.
