Oshawa commits to additional firefighters in 2020 budget

City councillors in Oshawa, Ont., approved hiring three frontline firefighters, an assistant deputy chief and a communications officer to oversee the dispatch centre. However, they opted to hold off on a significant bump in fire staffing that would lead to another fire truck on the roads.
