Cornwall fire hall contamination a concern for union

The Cornwall, Ont., firefighters’ union is pleased with the transparency dealing with underground contamination creeping toward the east end fire station and hopes it continues.

First responders throughout the Peace Country, which spans across Northern Alberta and British Columbia, made their mark for fallen comrades earlier this month, as they participated in a fundraiser for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Association.


Off-duty Welland firefighter comes to aid of injured cyclist

An off-duty Welland, Ont., firefighter got more than he bargained for when took his vehicle to get serviced Monday morning. It was about 8 a.m. when he saw a cyclist involved in a collision on Niagara Street across from the lot from the Mike Knapp Ford dealership and ran to the scene to offer aid.
