Charlottetown firefighters union hopes minimum staffing levels decision in Ontario leads to local change

A decision on minimum staffing levels rendered in Ontario has Charlottetown firefighters hopeful that change is coming.


Construction begins on new Mariposa fire station

Last week, officials from the municipality announced the ground-breaking of the new fire station being built in Mariposa, Ont. The Mariposa Fire Station will be the new home to the consolidated stations of Little Britain and the Oakwood, a decision that was brought forward after a location study was conducted through the current Master Fire Plan.


Firefighters’ union wants province to take over ambulance services

The union representing Winnipeg firefighters said it’s time the province took over ambulance services in the city. Currently, the city provides the service and bills the province. The two sides are now in negotiations for a new funding deal which is past due.
