Winnipeg police policy change may put firefighters and paramedics at risk of violence, leaked report finds

After analyzing hundreds of workplace injury reports filed by Winnipeg firefighters and paramedics, a consultant's report has concluded those workers are sometimes not getting enough information when they are dispatched to a call that may pose a higher risk of violence.


Montreal firefighters' association reaches agreement in principle with the city

The Montreal firefighters association (APM) has reached an agreement in principle with the City of Montreal on a collective bargaining agreement that will affect 2,400 firefighters. The renewal of the agreement in principle comes at the end of a long negotiations process.


Fire pump donation gives Black Tickle firefighting capabilities

A recent donation is making the small Newfoundland and Labrador community of Black Tickle a little bit safer. The Churchill Falls division of Nalcor Energy in conjunction with Churchill Falls Fire and Safety donated a fire pump to the town, which previously had no fire suppression equipment.
