Lethbridge Fire implements new Cardiac Survivability Program

In Alberta, Lethbridge Fire & Emergency Services began its the Cardiac Survivability Program last fall, with a full implementation of new tools – including a High-Performance CPR system, a mechanical CPR device called Zoll Autopulse, as well as Handtevy Mobile – starting in June.


Influx of fatalities on Saskatchewan roads present psychological challenges to first responders

According to RCMP, this year from June 1st to July 27 there have been 19 fatal collisions within Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction, compared to 14 during that same time period in 2021. These deaths present challenges for first responders such as rural volunteer firefighters.

In B.C., Peace fire departments are keeping up their training this wildfire season, putting their fire smarts to the test in a mock scenario on Saturday.


A Newfoundland fire department has partnered with an ATV group to fight wildfires

The fire department in the Town of Victoria, N.L., in Conception Bay North has partnered with its local ATV riding group to combat wildfires after a couple of years of struggling to keep up.
