Federal government investing $72 million in satellite infrastructure for wildfires

The government of Canada has awarded a $72 million contract to exactEarth Ltd., a subsidiary of Spire Global Canada, to design Canada’s WildFireSat constellation.


Governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador partner to address unsheltered homelessness

The federal government and the government of Newfoundland and Labrador have signed a new agreement to support people living without homes, as part of the Unsheltered Homelessness and Encampments Initiative (UHEI).


IAFF and FIRST Center introducing two courses to mitigate workplace violence

The International Association of Fire fighters (IAFF) and the Center for Firefighter Injury Research and Safety Trends (FIRST Center) at Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health are partnering to create two courses providing fire and EMS workers with the skills to prevent workplace violence.
