Predictive maintenance, X-ray scanning, cloud-based analytics, industry 4.0… Where can a sawmiller learn about all these hot topics in just one day?
OptiSaw – Canada's only mill optimization and automation forum – is taking place in Quebec City on April 22. In just one day of sessions from future-focused, industry-leading technology manufacturers and researchers, you will come away with insight into what's next for sawmilling in Canada.
Session highlights:
Connected mill: Capturing machine centre data in real time
A cloud-based data analytics dashboard platform has allowed EACOM Timber's Elk Lake sawmill to automate a formerly manual KPI reporting process by gleaning data from its machine centres in real time. B3 System's Vlad Katkov and Elk Lake general superintendent Travas Hack will present on the success of the pilot project and the future potential of the software for predictive maintenance in sawmills.
Sawmill 2020: Using AI and X-ray to map material flow
Today's AI solutions aim to assist human decision making and automate data-based analysis of processes. Finnos CEO Jere Heikkinen will explain how AI and X-ray solutions in use at Northern European sawmills can be adapted to North-American sawmill processes to enable transparent raw material flow.
Extracting value through accurate log rotation
In today's markets, extracting as much value as possible from each log is critical. But rotation errors in the log turners can decrease the extracted value by up to five per cent. Autolog's Mathieu Papillon will explain the source of rotation errors and possible solutions, including a new system that measures log rotation in real-time.
PLUS:
• Case study on the impact of a continuous kiln at Pleasant River Lumber
• Stereoscopic scanning: A look at the next generation of 3D scanning
• Optimization: What is it and how do we use it effectively?
• Case study on automating QC systems at Hampton Lumber
• And more!
OptiSaw's audience is strictly limited to sawmill management and owners, process engineers, continual improvement managers, optimization staff, researchers and design consultants. Register now for our early-bird rate to secure your seat at the table.
