ON, QC mayors sign historic forest alliance agreement

A group of mayors from northern Ontario and Quebec has signed a historic Boreal Forest Alliance Agreement to unify lobbying efforts in support of forestry activities.

An audit of Husby Forest Products Ltd.’s activities on Forest Licence A16869, in the Haida Gwaii Natural Resource District, found compliance with almost all of the requirements of the Forest and Range Practices Act and the Wildfire Act, according to a report.


Georgia-Pacific ends lawsuit with Huber

Georgia-Pacific Wood Products LLC (GP) announced that it has signed a patent license agreement with Huber Engineered Woods LLC (HEW) to settle litigation related to GP's ForceField System products.


Global timber and wood products market update

Global trade of softwood lumber has gone up 66 per cent in seven years, while lumber prices have fallen substantially over the same time-period, according to the Wood Resource Quarterly.
