The impact of duties on Canadian lumber exports to the U.S. will be a game-changer for different producing areas in North America, and also for exporters to the U.S. from overseas, writes Russ Taylor. Punitive duties will need to raise the price of lumber in the U.S. to a point that allows Canadian lumber back into the market; alongside this will come increased imports from Europe.
