Tolko's Quesnel operations reduced due to log supply shortage

Due to fire activity in the Cariboo, Tolko Industries Ltd. will be curtailing its Quest Wood operation in Quesnel, B.C. as of Monday, July 24th. The mill employs approximately 200 people and produces 210 million board feet of dimension lumber on an annual basis.

Pacific BioEnergy Corporation (PBEC) has announced that Sumitomo Corporation of Japan has acquired a 48 per cent equity interest in PBEC.

U.S. homebuilders 'increasingly concerned' over rising lumber prices

Builder confidence in the market for newly-built single-family homes slipped two points in July to a level of 64 from a downwardly revised June reading on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI). It is the lowest reading since November 2016.

Global forest and paper net earnings summary: Q1 2017

The largest Western and Eastern Canadian based forest products companies reported overall higher net earnings in the first quarter of 2017 compared to the first quarter of 2016.
